Primarily useful for taking the output of a screen recorder to make gifs out of. ![example](repo_images/example.gif) Do you really need a full-on repo for this script? ==== Yes. Having a proper readme, makefile, license, packaging, and testing doesn't take very long. I prefer doing this over creating longwinded shell aliases that are unmaintable and unshareable. This way, I can point someone to a repo, and they can contribute fixes or additions back, if they so choose. Or at the very least, when I swap between systems I can just install a package from a repo, instead of re-googling everything, or saying "gee i wish i had my dotfiles with me, which had that one specific alias that i need right now, which i guess isn't standard everywhere". What does this require? ==== If `ffmpeg` is not installed on the system, this will automatically add the McMahon PPA (which is the non-libav version of ffmpeg) and install ffmpeg, before converting the video. What does 'jamb' mean? ==== It's the word for those wooden slats in the middle of windows.
