### Installation

```console
$ npm install stylelint
```

### Usage

For now you must use it as a [PostCSS](https://github.com/postcss/postcss#usage) plugin directly

```js
var fs = require("fs")
var postcss = require("postcss")
var stylelint = require("stylelint")
var logWarnings = require("postcss-log-warnings")

// css to be processed
var css = fs.readFileSync("input.css", "utf8")

postcss()
  .use(
    stylelint({
      // config
    })
  )
  .use(
    logWarnings()
  )
  .process(css)
  .css
```

#### Configuring rules

Rules are configured within the `rules` key of the config. Each rule can be turned off or on: 

* 0 - turn the rule off
* 1 or 2 - turn the rule on

```js
{
  "rules": {
    "rule-set-no-single-line": 0, // turn rule off
    "number-no-important": 2, // turn rule off
  }
}
```

Some rules require options. There are no default values, so each rule that requires options must be explicitly configured:

```js
{
  "rules": {
    "declaration-colon-space": [2, { before: never", after: "always" }],
    "number-leading-zero": [2, "always"],
  }
}
```
