# Chinese Machine Translation - a Survey

#### 介绍
《学术研究英语》课程论文，为一篇关于汉语机器翻译的综述，总结了汉语机器翻译的研究成果。该课程让学生体验了学术论文撰写和发表的整体流程，课程中产生的交付物有论文、海报、演示文稿、评论信、评论信的回复等。由于时间久远，只能找到海报和最终论文，其中poster.pdf为海报，sample-acmtog.pdf为论文。

#### 摘要

With the major development brought in by reform and opening up in China, communication with other countries surges. Such enormous communication calls for quick and precise translation. Although machine translation performs far worse than manual translation, it is still useful as it is quick and costs far less. For this reason, we shed light on existing research work to inspire better understanding of common machine translation techniques. We discuss some features of Chinese language that pose challenges to machine translation, and techniques to handle these challenges by introducing existing research work.
