languages. They are very fast data structures that work like mini databases and
are commonly used in many programs.</p>

the values of one type to the values of another type. The values of the type

are among the fastest collections for storing and accessing elements. Other than
rare pathological cases, the time it takes to store an element or to access an

The high performance of hash tables is at the expense of their storing the
elements in an unordered way. Unlike arrays, the elements of hash tables are not
side-by-side. They are not sorted in any way either.</p>
