Recently we got a request from China mobile(CMCC).
They have a senario about container-based deployment. They want to use openEuler-based docker image to deploy their product, including a Percona-server based monitor platform. Then they provided several software/packages they want to use on their deployment. Show as below,
1. percona-server 8.0
2. percona-toolkit latest(perl based tool, upstream community lazy to update it frequently)
3. percona-xtrabackup 8.0
The above "8.0" meansthe said package should be coupled with Percona-server 8.0 version(as percona is mysql series database, so its tools can be compatible with Mysql 8.0). These are the downstream packages which customer use/install immediatelly.
So from this new request,DB SIG got 3new packages need to introduce into openEuler.
Now the plan is:
1.Introduce new repos towards percona-server and percona-toolkit
2. Upgrade the existing percona-xtrabackup from 2.3.6 to 8.0.
3. All packages plan to be introduced to openEuler mainline.
This issue will trace the whole progress we mentioned.
Current status:
1. All packagescan be built successfully on my openEuler 20.03 SP2 LTS with existing package dependency.
2. Due to OBS is not very stable, all packages hit some issues during build on OBS in my personal projects.
